The Engaged Home is committed to providing inspiration and resources for all the splendid (although sometimes challenging) activities that begin at home. We support families in home education, healthy lifestyles, developing Christian faith and character, as well as having fun together! Whether your family consists of you and your spouse, or is bursting at the seams with children, we are here to grow with you and encourage your healthy home life!

About Us:

Our passion for learning how to create a healthy home life began before we were married. Years later, we are continuing to discuss family, food, finances, faith, education, and building a strong foundation on Christ. We read books, seek out mentors, and spend time in prayer. Each day we continue our dedication to learn and grow.

My life is a mixed bag of experiences including working in public school education. In different capacities I have worked K-12.  My unofficial, but much loved job, is serving alongside my husband in ministry. I am a wife to an amazing man, mother to our sweet Rebekah, and I am blessed to be able to pursue my literary goals of  blogging, writing ebooks (stayed tuned for those), and composing poetry. I love reading, writing, crocheting, cooking, and spending time with my funny, supportive, and very patient husband, Mitch.

Mitch works as a Youth and Family Minister. In different capacities, Mitch’s whole life has involved ministry. In college, it became apparent his calling and passion was working with teenagers,  which reinforced his belief that what happens in the home has an eternal impact. One of his most important roles is supporting families as they help their children develop faith. He is a wonderful husband, daddy, and Youth and Family Minister.

  1. Ya’ll are so sweet!!! Thanks for stopping by and sharing your page at the “About” page party at Mom’s Morning Coffee!
May He continue to bless your growing family and ministry… 🙂

  2. Hi Nathana! Found you through Peony Project and love your blog. I am also interested in youth/teens which is why I write about them and parents on my blog as well. I would love to get a perspective from you and your husband working with youth and some of the issues that plague them. If you wouldn’t mind visiting my blog and letting me know what struggles teens go through that I haven’t touched on that would be awesome. Thanks!

  3. Hi, I finally found you. Have only read a few blogs but they are charming and witty and very insightful. I would say you and your husband have found one of the keys to a happy marriage–communication. Also respect and appreciation. Never stop saying ‘thank you’ and just the common courtesies you were taught. Sometimes in the crazy busy world we live in we forget. I saw your Mom last Saturday, lovely lady, too, you have great genes! I’m in and out on facebook and email but will try and catch up soon. Enjoy your blog, keep up the good work.

    • Thank you for visiting Kathleen! We are a work in progress, but I am grateful that Mitch is so loving and patient with me. My mom is pretty amazing. I look forward to catching up! 🙂
